Found a cheap 2 bedroom house for rent ($130/mo.) and bought a cheap car. And, I’m now working with Antonio building boats. Presently I’m building a plug for a new boat design. When it is finished, we will build a mold over it and have a new design for sale.

I start out with wood.

And a set of plans.

Behind the shop is a river to launch the boats and the edge of the rainforest. This male howler monkey was pretty loud, and I got this picture of him…

Though, I really miss the ocean and the incredible boating, snorkeling and diving in Panama. So, being that there really isn’t any work opportunities in Argentina for me, I moved back. Sold all of my camera gear and anything else that I could, to lighten up the load and such. Got a cheap flight on TACA. The flight flew from Buenos Aires, Argentina to Lima, Peru. Changed planes and then flew to San Salvador, El Salvador. Changed planes and then flew to San Jose, Costa Rica. Changed planes and then flew into Panama City, Panama and arrived around midnight. The next morning took care of some business and then bought a new Canon Powershot G9.

Took a ride out to Boca Chica to see the ocean.  I thought that the name of this boat was appropriate (translated: The Sea is my Treasure).

Yep, lots of boats…

And the beautiful countryside…  It’s good to be back.

In Zoo Lujan you can enter the cages with the animals.

We jump on the subway in Buenos Aires for the beginning of the journey.  Then we take several trains out to Lujan.

These lions are just spectacular.  And, being up close is really special…

In the monkey cage.  This is a howler up close.

That is just a very funny expression.  It looks as though the other has just said something…

Elephant rides.

This is such a great zoo.  Everything is interactive.  And, there is an amazing amount of animals just walking around with the people…

Having grew up in New Orleans, I have an idea what Mardi Gras is like. This is very close.

Very colorful costumes.  But… the simpsons???

Definitely a “The Mask” look alike…  Was keeping my eye out for the dog though…

And, what would a parade be without bands?

Doesn’t everyone just love a marching band?

The other fun thing about it was the herds of kids spraying each other with cans of perfumed soap…  Wish they had that when I was a kid.

And, popularity has it’s price…  the more popular, the more foam…

All ages where in the parade.

Great food along the sides of the routes.

Definitely a fun time was had by all…  especially if you were a kid.  Though, I saw some grownups (old kids) getting into the foam wars also.

Definitely an enjoyable time at the Carnaval…
