Covered bridges of Montgomery County…

Filed under: Pennsylvania, Photography, architecture, landscape, pic-a-month, pic-a-week — Capn Scott @ 12:08 pm

Got a chance to go out and shoot with the local photography meetup group.  We visited several covered bridges after a night of a dusting of snow.

Water reflection and snow just makes this shot…

Cats can be so expressive… Why there will always be a dive shop kitty…

Filed under: Pennsylvania, Photography, models, nature, pic-a-month, pic-a-week — Capn Scott @ 10:06 am

Cats are so easy to photograph. They can sometimes seem like they are modeling.

This guy is such a coconut.  They say that, out of all the animal pictures on the net, the cat takes the most.  He likes having his picture taken and can come up with some expressions…

Nice respite in a cold state…

Filed under: Pennsylvania, Photography, landscape, nature, pic-a-month, pic-a-week — Capn Scott @ 1:42 pm

I had a chance to travel with a friend to the middle of Pennsylvania.  There is a bed and breakfast there that is really unusual.  But, unusual in a good way.  The view is very scenic.  This is a spot for horse lovers.  The country charm and views are outstanding.

Has your typical barn and silo.  All the necessary ingredients for some great photography.

And, the little pond across the way is picturesque in the sunrise.  The rooms are incredible, to say the least.  Nice place to relax, take some pictures and enjoy the country…

Moonset in the Morning…

Filed under: Panama, Photography, landscape, pic-a-month, pic-a-week — Capn Scott @ 7:26 pm

I woke at 5am, and the full moon was just blazing in the sky.  I had to get the shot.

I caught it setting along the tops of the near islands.  There were sooo many stars.  This was a 90 second exposure on a tripod.

I’m up already, so, I waited for the sunrise and got some shots of it as well.

I tried to get several angles…  hey, I had at least 15 minutes…

I ventured to the other side of the island and explored the cove.  There were many howler monkeys making alot of noise, but hidden in the tree tops.

And…  the original intent was a little relaxation as well…  The guy who invented the hammock was a genius.

Tomorrow is another travel day back to Panama City.  Then, from there, back to the great white north and…  I believe the forecast is for snow…

What’s that white stuff??

Okay…  up north they have this white stuff that falls from the sky.  I haven’t been up here for over 20 years.  They’re forecasting at least 11 inches of snow.

The snow is colder than I remember.  It’s also less fun.

This is an HDR shot of the same scene.  Well, this coming week, I’ll be home, in David for Christmas.  It’ll be so nice to get back.
